OUR STORY
In 2013, friends moved from the Bay Area to Los Angeles to start a college church and share the hope of Jesus. Today, Generations LA is a warm, multi-generational Christian community following God together near UCLA, USC, and SMC.
Meet the Pastor
Joe and Irene Hwang met at UC Berkeley, where their lives were transformed by a community that lived out authentic faith. Since then, they’ve dedicated their lives to mentoring college students and sharing the gospel, serving in cities like Berkeley, Irvine, Boston, and now Los Angeles.
Together, they bring a dynamic balance to their ministry: Joe’s steady, down-to-earth nature pairs perfectly with Irene’s joyful, people-loving energy. They combine a love for sports, creativity, and community to inspire and connect with others.
