Sunday Recap from Generations LA near UCLA, USC, and SMC: on Faith and Community in College Life

College life in Los Angeles is busy. Classes, assignments, work, friendships, and figuring out the future can fill every hour. In the middle of it all, it can be easy to let your faith drift into the background. At Generations LA, Pastor Joe reminded us that following Jesus in a fast paced world means choosing to be anchored in Him no matter what is going on around us.

Faith grows when it is tested

When life gets hard, it can feel like God is far away. But the truth is that challenges can strengthen our trust in Him.

Just like a muscle needs resistance to grow, our faith matures when we rely on God through difficulties.

Make space for God every day

College schedules are packed, but we still make time for the things that matter to us. Even five minutes to read a verse, pray, or sit quietly before God can reset your heart and mind for the day.

Faith and community in college life: you were made for community!

God never intended for us to walk alone. Being part of a church family gives us encouragement and accountability that helps us keep going when we are tired or discouraged.

Community in College is Important!

Why this matters as a college student

For students at UCLA, USC, and Santa Monica College, life can change quickly. Deadlines come fast. Friendships shift. Plans don’t always work out. In all of that, faith in Jesus offers a steady foundation. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, even in the middle of a busy Los Angeles semester.
